Cable cabinets for lighting and distribution
A sustainable choice for the installations of the future.
We are now introducing a new cable cabinet for lighting and distribution. With a new, contemporary and functional design and made from the environmentally friendly and self-healing material Magnelis®, this cabinet simplifies matters for electricians and end users alike. Each cabinet comes with an EPD* and the standout features of our cable cabinets include their safety, ease of use, energy efficiency and smart control.
*An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a standardised document detailing the environmental impact of a product throughout its life cycle. It is based on a life cycle assessment (LCA) and complies with international standards, such as ISO 14025. An EPD enables comparisons of products within the same category based on their environmental performance, promoting transparency and sustainable choices in, for example, the construction industry. The information in an EPD is third-party verified, thereby ensuring its reliability.
Energy-efficient lighting cabinet.
Road junctions, streets, squares, car parks, green areas, sports fields, cycle paths and pavements – all of these are examples of places in our communities where dependable lighting is essential for us to be able to see, be seen and feel safe when darkness falls. These environments have to withstand harsh conditions due to climate, traffic and snow clearing. As a consequence, in addition to finding sustainable and dependable lighting, it is also important to choose a solution that is both energy efficient and easy to install when it comes to the power supply and smart control.
Flexible, robust and user-friendly.
The cable cabinets are intended for lighting control or distribution equipment, with a choice of 18 different pre-assembled standard models as well as four cabinets ready for you to customise yourself. The cabinets come with integrated bases and adjustable legs. The cabinets are also complemented with an extensive range of accessories, including a hatch for temporary power, a rock mount for locations where the cabinet needs to be anchored in rock and a snow marker. The design of our new cabinets is based on field studies conducted alongside electricians, meaning, for example, that they include a lockable hatch that doesn’t risk blowing open or otherwise interfering with the installation process. All with the aim of making your working days as an electrician easier and more straightforward.
Lighting control – choose between three different alternatives.
You can choose between three effective ways of controlling the lighting: light relay, astronomical clock and external control. Regardless of which type of control you choose, the cabinet is equipped with the necessary switches for automatic or manual operation and shut-off. Naturally, everything is carefully designed and developed for quick and easy installation.
Magnelis® – for the environment.
All aspects of sustainability are important to us. This is why we are proud to be the first to market with cable cabinets with a housing made from Magnelis®, a metallic coated steel. This material gives our cabinets far superior self-healing properties and stronger corrosion resistance in demanding or highly alkaline environments, when compared to the equivalent hot-dip galvanised coatings. This means that our cable cabinet can handle harsh climates at all latitudes and all weathers.
Magnelis® is an excellent choice for the environment since its production entails as much as an 80% reduction in harmful emissions compared to other equivalent materials. Moreover, Magnelis® is the only magnesium coating that RISE has approved for the highest corrosion protection category, C5. Naturally, we have also ensured that our cable cabinet has the highest impact resistance rating, IK10, to curb any vandalism or other external interference.
Distribution cabinets for many different environments.
Is the routed electricity supply to be distributed to several different connection points? Our cable cabinet can be equipped for the safe and effective distribution of electricity in environments such as agriculture, manufacturing, industrial estates, sports centres and residential areas, for example.
With or without metering?
Our distribution cabinets are available in two different widths and two different heights, depending on whether the cabinet is to have space for metering equipment. The narrow cabinet is 372 mm wide and can accommodate up to three outgoing groups while the wide cabinet measures 522 mm in width with space for up to seven outgoing groups. The cabinets equipped with electricity meters are 1140 mm high while the cabinets without meters are 860 mm high, as measured from the base.
Basic cable cabinet.
If you prefer, we can deliver the cable cabinet completely empty, ready for you to customise yourself. The basic cable cabinets are available in two widths, 372 mm and 522 mm, both with a height of 1140 mm, as measured from the base. The fitted mounting plate kits or DIN rails enable you to easily customise the contents of the cabinet to suit your needs and preferences. You can choose between different mounting plate kits for installing components and various DIN rail kits for installing DIN components.
