In the summer of 2023, the EU took a major step towards a greener and more sustainable future when the European Council adopted the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR). This agreement marks an important milestone in efforts to transition the transport sector and accelerate charging infrastructure expansion across Europe.

Climate premium for light and heavy electric vehicles

As of February 13, 2024, a new support scheme is available for light electric trucks. There has also been a special effort where small businesses can now receive increased support when purchasing emission-free heavy trucks. The purpose of the supports is to accelerate the electrification of Sweden's vehicle fleet and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

GARO have entered Nordic partnership with Aneo

As of January 2024, GARO has entered a partnership agreement with the Norwegian energy company Aneo to jointly offer future-proof and cost-effective electric vehicle charging in Sweden and Norway. Aneo, with its roots in Norway, has proven successful within renewable energy production and has even established itself as a leading supplier of electric vehicle charging for apartment buildings and commercial properties. Aneo is currently responsible for more than 90,000 parking spaces with electric vehicle charging.
