GARO signs framework agreement with E.ON Drive Infrastructure

GARO has signed a framework agreement with E.ON Drive Infrastructure (EDRI) covering products for public electric vehicle (EV) charging in Europe. The previous partnership with E.ON is thus being further strengthened and broadened for the build-out of charging infrastructure in Europe, with the emphasis on sustainable products and solutions. The agreement with EDRI runs until 2027 with an extension option.

EDRI is a charge point operator that combines its long experience of network development and construction and operation of public charging infrastructure for electric cars and commercial vehicles. Today, EDRI operates more than 3,700 public EV charge points in Europe and is working to expand this network rapidly.  Additionally, E.ON provides 10,000 charge points in the private and business sector.

“The expansion of the infrastructure in Europe is in its infancy for EV charging. To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we need more players to work together if we are to significantly reduce the carbon emissions. We are therefore pleased that EDRI has chosen to strengthen its collaboration with GARO. Together, we will make a difference,” says Niklas Rönnäng, Business Area Manager, GARO E-mobility.

100% of the electricity supplied to EDRI’s charge points is certified fossil free and derived from renewable energy, and the company has a clear emphasis on sustainability as part of its vision. EDRI owns the charge points and is responsible for their daily operation. In addition to existing tests, GARO’s products have also undergone quality tests in E.ON’s own test lab. This is to ensure that the products meet the highest quality standards and will thus have a long service life when installed at the charging stations across Europe and that, in the event of any incidents, well-established processes and flows are in place for support and aftermarket.

“At E.ON Drive Infrastructure, we assume clear responsibility for the delivery of sustainable public EV charging for our customers, 24/7. Therefore, we carefully select the premium manufacturers we partner with. The collaboration with GARO is based on deep trust, product reliability and safety, as well as our shared objectives of expanding and strengthening charging infrastructure in Europe,” says Arjan van der Eijk, COO, E.ON Drive Infrastructure.

GARO’s products are based on open interface, making the product easy to apply in the cloud solutions of EDRI and other operators, for example, to facilitate payment and to continuously control and optimize the charge points.
