Future electricians gain hands-on experience with GARO

With GARO products, students in the Electrical and Energy program at Marks Gymnasium can practice using the latest technology in both electrical installations and electric vehicle charging. This gives them hands-on experience with real-world products used in the industry —a valuable preparation for their future careers.

Future electricians gain hands-on experience with GARO

The Electrical and Energy program at Marks Gymnasium
Marks Gymnasium offers an Electrical and Energy program with two specializations: Automation and Electrical Technology. Students receive both theoretical and practical training. With approximately 20 students per year and a dedicated teaching team of six, the school provides a close-knit and stimulating learning environment where students can work with the latest industry technology.

Hands-on learning with modern equipment
The school has recently installed a GARO Entity Pro dual charger, a GARO Entity Compact, and a meter cabinet with backup power. This allows students to practice real installations during their education. Other GARO products have also been used in classrooms for some time.

Henrik Arnell, a vocational teacher in the Electrical and Energy program, emphasizes the value of the collaboration and explains that GARO’s products allow students to work with the same type of equipment they will encounter in their future workplaces. This strengthens the connection between theory and practice and ensures students feel well-prepared for professional life. He also highlights the importance of showing students real products they might already see during internships, explaining that this makes the education feel relevant and motivating.

Henrik also describes the benefit of working with products from a local supplier:

"I see great value in having a local Swedish manufacturer like GARO. Being able to communicate easily, call an office and reach the people there, and not having to travel far to a factory to see production and maybe even take the students there—that is extremely important for us!"

Student's experiences and future in the Electrical Industry
Students Emil Wikestam Berggren and Noel Ingvarsson Lybratt, now in their third year of the Electrical and Energy program, appreciate the opportunity to work with real products at school.

"I think it’s very important to use real products. Otherwise, we might be using something at school that’s not used in the real world. Now that we get to work with new, up-to-date equipment, we’re well-prepared to enter the workforce," says Emil.

For the students, it’s also about exploring the possibilities of technology, such as load balancing in EV chargers and integration between chargers and meter cabinets. Emil and Noel find this both exciting and educational.

"I’m most looking forward to seeing how load balancing works. I became interested in it as soon as I heard about it," comments Noel.

The students also highlight the program’s practical focus and the school’s dedication.

"I wasn’t exactly sure which program to choose, but I quickly felt I had come to the right place here. There are excellent teachers, great materials, and a lot of hands-on work. Plus, it’s a future-proof profession that will be in demand for a long time," says Noel.

GARO's role
For GARO, collaborations with schools like Marks Gymnasium are very important. Johan-Christer Svensson, Commercial Product Manager at GARO E-mobility, explains:

"We are a Swedish manufacturer, and our products are available locally, which makes the collaboration especially valuable. Allowing young, aspiring electricians to work with the market’s most advanced products gives them a strong start in their careers. Through initiatives like this, students get a unique opportunity to combine theory, practice, and innovation, while building a solid foundation for a future in the electrical industry," says Johan-Christer.
