GARO Entity Pro in Karlastaden

Serneke Bostad wanted a climate-smart, safe and future-proof wallbox for the new Karlastaden district. The newly settled residents can now charge their electric and hybrid vehicles with GARO’s new GARO Entity Pro wallbox.

Lindholmen in Gothenburg is witnessing the emergence of a brand-new district. Karlastaden, which will comprise eight blocks once it’s completed, encompassing shops, a hotel, offices and 2,000 homes, as well as Karlatornet, the tallest building in the Nordic region. Under one of the blocks, residents and visitors with electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles will be able to charge them with GARO wallboxes.

Mid-April saw the commissioning of twenty GARO Entity Pro wallboxes to meet electric vehicle charging needs. As always when working with electricity and high power, safety is of the highest priority to ensure safe and secure charging.

“The safety aspect is extremely important when so many wallboxes are involved, and GARO’s new GARO Entity Pro wallbox enables residents to charge safely and securely around the clock. Moreover, for this installation, we’ve also supplied our load balancing unit, GARO Entity Balance, which minimises the risk of power failures for everyone living here in Karlastaden,” explains Jakob von Bahr, Project Sales, GARO E-mobility.

Thanks to the open interface of the GARO Entity Pro wallbox, the customer is never tied to a single provider, leaving them free to use their preferred provider. In the project conducted together with Serneke, commissioning and ongoing service are the responsibility of provider Voltiva, one of GARO’s preferred partners.

“Here at Voltiva, our highest priority is a wallbox that’s safe for both the customer and the electrician, and we also want it to be future-proof for the property owner,” says Rhebecca Borgvall, Sales Manager, Voltiva.

For Serneke Bostad, the initiator and a joint owner of the Karlastaden project, sustainability, safety and future-proof technology were key considerations when choosing a wallbox.

“For us, when choosing a wallbox, it was important to pick one that is climate-smart and contributes to a better environment and, of course, our power needs. So load balancing and phase balancing were key in our choice of wallbox,” says Birgitta Neugebauer, Business Development Manager, Serneke Fastighetsstyrning.
