GARO appoints Lars Frieg as CEO in Germany

Germany is not only Europe’s leading car manufacturer, but also the country in Europe with the highest number of electric cars – over 1 million – which thus requires a substantially increase in the rate of expansion rate for charging stations to meet the need for public EV charging.

Lars Frieg began his career in the electric car industry at Innogy (now E.ON) in 2017 where he was Head of International Partnerships and later also become Head of International Key Accounts for the entire company. Lars’s most recent position was at Elli, part of the Volkswagen Group, which is a supplier of energy and charging infrastructure solutions, where he built up the B2B sales organization and the business unit Ecosystem as Senior Vice President.

“With his long international experience in EV charging from both energy companies and the automobile industry together with his considerable knowledge in sales organizations through various leading positions, we welcome Lars to GARO and look forward to establishing the company further in the German market,” says Niklas Rönnäng, Business Area Manager GARO E-mobility.

“GARO is an exciting company that is clearly demonstrating that it is a player to be reckoned with through its innovative products and international development. Electrification has picked up considerable speed and it is an exciting time to be part of the efforts to drive and develop GARO moving forward in the German market. I already look forward to meeting customers, partners and other stakeholders in order to accelerate the transition to a fossil-free vehicle fleet together,” says Lars Frieg.

GARO currently sells to the German market through exports. Recruitment of the sales organization is ongoing and is expected to be complete by January 1, 2024. Lars assumed his position on October 16, 2023.
