GARO supplies charging stations to Green Highway

We deliver charging stations to Green Highway in Västernorrland and Jämtland

“This is the largest single order of rapid chargers in Sweden”

We will be the supplier of fast chargers and charging stations for electric cars to Green Highway between Sundsvall, Östersund and Trondheim.

GARO AB, together with its partner companies Efacec, ELTEL Networks Infranet AB and Charge Storm AB, will act as an industrial partner in the Charging Infrastructure project for Green Highway, which is a collaboration between Sundsvall Elnät, Jämtkraft and Mid Sweden University.

“We are naturally very pleased to be entrusted to take a place in the single largest investment in the country to create a fossil-free vehicle fleet. The aim is to contribute to a better climate and this is a big step in that direction,” says our CEO Stefan Jonsson.

Green Highway is a green transport corridor between Sundsvall, Östersund and Trondheim. In an initial stage GARO will deliver ten DC rapid chargers at a cost of about SEK 3 million. Already in the autumn of 2013 GARO received an order together with Charge Storm AB to supply about 80 AC Smart Chargers.

“This is the largest single order of rapid chargers in Sweden and it is of course important to us that, in fierce competition with others, we were able to clinch the deal,” says Stefan Jonsson. We are also excited to work with Sundsvall Elnät, Jämtkraft and Mid Sweden University in order to conduct research in the area. The order for the rapid chargers was placed by Sundsvall Elnät AB

The Government aims to have 150,000 electric cars in Sweden by 2020. Green Highway represents a major step towards the goal.
